       Cassandra Johnson, PhD, LPC, CPCS

Dr. Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. She holds certifications as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS), HeartMath Certified Practitioner, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, National Certified Counselor (NCC), Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH), and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). Dr. Johnson also serves as a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).

Academic Accomplishments

She received her master’s degree in community counseling from Troy University. She earned her doctorate degree in counselor education and supervision from Capella University.

Dr. Johnson has worked in multiple clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient. She also currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.

Dr. Johnson holds professional memberships in the American Counseling Association (ACA), the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP), the Licensed Professional Counselor Association of Georgia (LPCA), the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the International Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA).


She is the recipient of a 2015 ASERVIC Research Award for her doctoral dissertation titled, “Spirituality in Counselor Education: An Investigation of Trainees’ Spiritual Beliefs, Preparation, and Competence.”


Dr. Johnson believes that the field of counseling is her calling, and she is dedicated to helping individuals live fulfilling lives. At the Center for Clinical Counseling, LLC in Augusta, she pursues her passion for helping others by providing culturally sensitive, high-quality care that is tailored to each person.
